Questioning....for us teachers, it's a strategy we teach. At this point in the school year I think we should just leave it out. Forget about it! I think this year I've decided that the 3rd grade team taught it a little too well last year. I have thought many, many times this week that if I get asked one more of the same question I'm going to lose it. Grant it, they are 8 and 9 and I have this new and improved attitude, remember.... but I feel like a broken record! I think this year instead of focusing on questioning, I'm going to make up my own strategy and call it "listening." What a concept! No more questions....if they could just listen the first time, I would have answered the question that they have their hand raised for. They aren't listening to me because they are too focused on not forgetting their question. Wow, kids, you got to love all 34 of them! Remember, that's 34!
Where'd that new and improved attitude go, you ask? It's still here...just having a moment.
I hear you sister! :0)
ReplyDeleteYou are allowed to have your moments!! We all have them! Sorry you have so many kids... our largest class size out here is 23! :-) Maybe you would like to move to TX? :-)
ReplyDeleteMoving to Texas sounds scary. Matt has a dad in east texas somewhere. He loves it. 23 in a class sure does sound nice though!
