San Diego Zoo/ Drew was in a show

The boys and I had a glorious time at the San Diego Zoo yesterday. It was a completely last minute idea I had. We have passess so it's an easy thing for us to do. No one could come with us (like I said it was last minute). I think we were meant to be alone. We contemplated the zoo or the animal park. The deciding factor was we could go see my big sis, my gorgeous niece and my fun loving brother in law if we went to the zoo. We ultimately decided that the zoo was where we were going to go. So we headed off. When we got there the boys wanted to go to the petting zoo first so we headed there first. We stayed in the children's zoo area for a few hours. Here are a few pictures of the day.

We posed for a picture for mom

We saw giant turtles

We saw different types of iguanas

Played on the playground

We saw exotic birds

We saw meerkats

We pretended to be kissed by a lama

We pretended to be insects

We saw an otter

We saw a Komoto Dragon

After having tons of fun in the children's zoo we discovered there was a show starting soon so we headed over to it after lunch. So we waited there for about 20 minutes before the show was to start. Drew found us the perfect seats. We were in fact in the splash zone, but that's part of the fun right?

We watched a show

Then the host called on volunteers from the audience to be part of the show. Drew and Zach both raised their hands of course. Drew bounced up and down and what do you know...he was chosen. This is his second time being in a show at an amusement park! Twice in a nine year old's life time. Who does that? When he was seven he was chosen to be in the dolphin show at Sea World. Here's a video of him on stage.

Drew was in the show

Camera ran out of memory after the video, even after I erased all of the pictures I had already uploaded, so I didn't need them anymore. I erased them before knowing Drew was going to be in the show. Things happen for a reason.

Zachary was super supportive of his brother. He did a great job cheering him on and he let him know what a fantastic job he did. So proud of both.

Bonus: We got to have In n' Out with my big sis.

What a great day! How was your weekend?
