What a nice day....

To my gal pals who have little children (baby to five): I don't have poopy diapers, fits, strollers, diaper bags, or spit up. When they get older they have other issues, but we're definitly past all those baby things. In a few years, you'll get to have a day like today (when you're lucky)....

Today was such a nice day. The weather was beautiful (although I could use a little more sunshine), the kids behaved (even in a restaurant), and I had a lovely evening with my mother-in-law. First the day started out with a two mile walk to Kohl's to make an exchange and of course a toy for each kid. The boys did very well, only a little bit of whining from Zachary. I have to keep telling him his glass is half full, he's my "negative Nancy." Then it was off across the parking lot to Carl's. Turns out one of my students and his mother (who I've become friends with throughout this school year) walked in shortly after us. Great! I have a friend to talk to while the boys play with their new transformers (of course!) and play in the play area. We talked for quite a while and then she gave us a lift home! That worked out very well. Thanks Sara for being at the right place at the right time. I enjoyed the chit chat.

I called my mother in law this morning to see if she'd like to come over and visit this evening because we're going camping this week for a few days and we won't see her. I love her and so do the boys so we can't go very long without seeing her. Not only did she come over and visit, she took us out to dinner. Thanks for a great time Linda...I love you!

When the evening started to wind down, I heard Drew yelling from his room, "MOMMY, I'M READY FOR BED!" I must have worn him out with all that great exercise and good walking stories because he was serious. They both were out like a light in two minutes. It usually takes a good twenty and a few threats. Again, what a nice day....

Now I get to see my wonderful husband. We love to sit on the couch and watch TV together. It's out time to veg when the kids are in bed. It's our time to breath...

  1. Hi,
I'm so delighted with your blog. Zach is so cute and I loved getting to see and hear Drew play for his class. Ron has already left for work...he'll be so excited.
We will see you some time this summer for sure...gotta see Cody and Gavin and everyone!
    We love you,
    Angela

  2. I bet it is nice at that stage, but I have to say I am enjoying every minute even with the poopy diapers!! What a nice walk you went on. I can't believe the boys kept up, but I am sure they were ready for bed when the sun went down. Bet you'll be doing that more often!
