We left for Big Sur this past Monday. We had never been there, but soon discovered why people love it there!
So we started off on our 9 hour drive up the California coast with our wonderful friends Matt, Vanessa & Ella at 6:00 in the morning, however we did get up at 4:00 in the morning. I tried very hard not to wake the boys up, but it was bound to happen. You see, I am VERY loud. I talk loud, I always bang into something with some sort of body part, I always bang things together by accident. I'm quite clumsy. So needless to say, they woke up at 4:30 or so wondering what was going on. As soon as I told them, there was no getting them back to sleep, they were too excited. I thought they'd sleep on the car ride up there, but not so much. The drive up the coast, which some of you may know is beautiful. I've actually never done that before. I fell asleep for part of it and when I woke up Matt told me I missed the good parts...bummer!
As we were planning this trip, I knew all I wanted to do was float in the river on a raft (I've never done that either). We didn't know what it was going to be like so we came extra prepared. We didn't know if the river would be high, medium, or low. If it would be rough or mild. We just weren't sure, but when we got there we discovered it was perfect for the kids. No life vests necessary. We stayed at the Riverside campground and cabins, site #2. It's a beautiful site and perfect for kids.
Looks like so muh fun!
