We got away!

Our friend owns a cabin in Crest Line and she so graciously let us borrow it for the weekend. We don't get away much with Matt in paramedic school and we were really looking forward to going there with just the four of us. It was a great, great bonding time for us. We are already pretty bonded, but everyone can always use more.

On Saturday afternoon we went to Arrowhead village and found a place to have a snow fight and build snowmen. We headed back to the cabin and ordered pizza and watched Up.

On Sunday morning after breakfast, we found a place to sled right by Rim of the World High School. Be sure you have your adventure pass. You can purchase that at any 7-11 for $5. We had a strategically placed snow fight. Matt and I against the boys. We hid behind rocks and sneak attacked them. It was fun! They loved it! Then we ate lunch and went on a hike. They boys love hikes. After our three hour hike, we headed back to the cabin and made dinner. After dinner, we played Apples to Apples, the junior version for 2 hours. It was great family time. We stayed up late and watched movies and snuggled.

On Monday morning we cleaned the cabin and headed home. On the way home, I asked the boys what their favorite part of the trip was. They said EVERYTHING! I asked them again if they could specify one thing they liked the best and they couldn't. I have to agree. I loved everything too. Thanks Cyn-D.

We met up with one of Matt's friends from paramedic school who lives in Arrowhead and he took us on a hike.

We found a remote area and sledded for free. We had a blast!

  1. So glad you were able to get away and have fun family times! Every family needs that :-)and the boys will remember this adventure in 10 years before they remember the 'things" they got for Christmas. Great stuff
