Today is a day of much needed relaxation. My boys don't seem to think this is as grand of an idea I do. They want to go out and do things like most children. It's cold, seems gloomy, and I'm unmotivated today to be the entertainer. I think I'll take them to see Alice and Wonderland later, which I heard is really good and that kids my boys' age would really like, so I think we'll do that. Drew has been dressed like a wizard all day and he loves that. I let him sleep in it too. I figured, who cares if he's happy and it's no skin off my nose. He wore ski pants to school the other day too, two days in a row. He didn't ask again the next day when everyone noticed he wore them again. It's the little lessons in life that I HAVE to let him learn now. They slept on my floor last night which is what they usually do when Matt is gone. By the time morning came, I had both of them in bed with me. I ended up in the middle and I actually hate that, but I loved it at the same time. We slept in til 7:30! That was really nice....
We came home from running some errands this morning and worked on Zach's diorama. He's a stubborn little guy. He must get it from me. Poor thing! I gave my ideas, Drew gave his, but Zach didn't take any of them and he built it the way he wanted it, which is how it should be. It's hard to let those things go, but I'm ok with it. It's not my project anyway....I'm a teacher and projects are just what we do, but I can't control these things, they are his things, not mine so I've decided to get over myself and LET IT GO! That feels good. Who cares what grade he gets if he's proud of his work and what he accomplished. I keep telling myself this anyway! :) I'm lucky he's smart little guy with a true mind of his own. Have a great Saturday evening! We're off to the movies, but they don't know it yet.
We had a similar day! Bill was working at the base so we stayed in our pjs until 2pm! Luke kept asking if he could change and I said no because it was raining and why bother! Truthfully, they would have loved some more excitement, but I didn't have it in me. When daddy got home we headed to the OC for Auntie Eryn's 19th birthday so that made up for it!
